Please Help Identify This Heater Switch ***'y

Yesterday "53skyliner" had a question about a heater switch for his car. I posted a picture of a set-up I have. Neither of us know what year(s) it is for. I'm sure it's Ford or Mercury but wondered if any of you know which years it is appropriate for? Thank you, Dennis/Arkansas.

That looks like a '42 to '48 Ford/Merc switch and defroster knob to me. It's upside down in the photo, the flat part of the mounting bracket screws into the underside of the dash just to the right of the ignition switch.

The color of knobs should indicate the original application and match dash knobs within those years...I do not know the origin of clear!
