Please help ID this cluster

So I started piecing together and taking inventory of what I have/need to put together a couple of transmission for my 34. Yesterday when I was disassembling one of my cores I came across this gear set that didn't seem to line up with any of the tooth counts available for the Fords or LZ's. The cluster has a 26-24-18-14 tooth count.

I was thinking these might be LZ gears, but the ones listed in the Ford literature have a 26-22-18-14. So that 24 is throwing me for a loop.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

Look closely for a part number as I have ran on to afew Mopar clusters that at a glance look like the Ford cluster. The number is usually found between the gears. The gear count never matches the Ford gear count. Rod

Thanks for the response.

This one came out of a late model ford truck case. But the trans had the later 81A shifter, and a "39" style shift lever. Also the gear set has the late synchros as well. Not sure if that info is of any use.

The only markings I could find on the gears are "191-X" and "Made in the U.S.A.".

I have one of those, put the question up here... The explanation that made the most sence was that it was out of a 1941 Zephyr...

The 06H-7113 is a 26-22-18-14 gear so the second gear is different. That 26-24-18-14 has a real close ratio from second to high but is a big drop from 1st to 2nd. Even the 56H-7113 is 26-22-18-14 but the only difference between it and the 06H is the type of rear thrust washer.

There are so many other 3-speeds out there that it may have been from any other large car manufactured back in the day but I don't think it's a Ford part, at least not an early one anyway. The gear teeth look like the early style (pre 1951) gears though but its hard to tell with the resolution & wear there. Most of those transmission ratios were used with 4.10:1 or higher rear axle ratio gears.

Someone may have been looking for a cluster that was like the Lincolns and tried to match it with the 2nd gear that works with a 24 tooth cluster like the 81A-7102 or the 51A-7102. Don't know how it would work unless a person fit it up & tried it. I'm not enough of a fan of those type gears to try it myself.

Yeah, I wasn't exactly planning on trying it becasue of the ratios. It would just be nice to figure out where this thing originated from.

Thanks for all the responses.
