does anyone have pics or a bad drawing of how the cable op on a 1932 ford pines grille was laid out. i have the spring to keep it naturally open but have nothing on how the cable ran up the grille and over the radiator. thanks for any help glenn

Here's a scan of page 54 showing the Pines, patented, Thermostatically Controlled Winterfront. I'm not sure that this is what Glenn was looking for, I believe they were offered as manual units also.
Sorry about the upside down image, it appears correctly in my "Saved As" file, but I cannot get it to show right side up..

Yes there was a manual unit as well. I think the actuating rod ran along the radiator support rods to the firewall?

Here is scan-

Imagine if only you could get them for $17.50 now! I'd buy every one they had. Still kicking myself for a few years back, a guy had an NOS in the box for $1K. Talk about a return on investment with the current prices of these pieces.

I've done a couple of 32 Pines, Did one just fastened the bars in the open position but did another with adjustable bars using a lawn mower pull type choke cable ran up thru the top pf the shell going back along one of the radiator rods then thru the firewall and under the dash. It worked although I didn't use it very much.

many thanks to everyone that responded to my request for PINES WINTERFRONT grille cable layout. i contacted a control cable mfr in seattle that supplied me with some 30 series cavle connectors from Wescon. i used a 20 series cable (choke cable) and with 32 minor alteration and several failures , i got it to work. i put a splice in the control cable along the rod to allow removal of the grille shell without having to try to disconnect the cable from the dash. thanks again everyone.
