Picture distortion....

I was viewing the post about posting a picture of your car and noticed one thing that all the photos are a bit distorted...out of focas to say the least.

Is that the way it is for the rest of you or are your photos very clear?

How can I adjust my computer, if possible, to get a clearer picture?

Thanks.

Pluck

Some were distorted here also, but not all of them. IMHO opinion too many of them were poor quality cell phone pic's which also cause me problems with E-bay pic's once in awhile. Rod

Most of the pictures that I have looked at on this site have been clear. Obviously the clarity is dependent on the source of the original picture. Don/WI

Pluck,

You might want to go into your "display settings" and check that the resolution is matched to your monitor size.

Setting it higher can help.

Pluck, I know you are on a dialup connection. If you are using a dialup accelerator software with your dialup service that could be what is causing the quality of your photos to be less than the actual quality. One way the dialup accelerators speed things up is to reduce the file size of images thereby reducing the visual quality of the image.

If you are using a dialup accelerator there may be a setting for image quality in the software. Call your isp, they should be able to tell you how to change the setting for their software.

I just had to buy a new monitor that has the wide screen,
all pictures look lower and stretched out now.

My 31 looks like it has a chopped top now...

I think this is what you asked and not about monitor resolution. You have to get an exiting program, like photo shop, but there are many free ones on the net you can download and you want to make sure the res is set to 72 DPI and then edit and focus and you will be fine.. Hope that helps Steve.

Steve, I looked at your site, and on my computer the only bad picture that I saw of yours was the one of the engine. I'd replace that one and see if it makes a difference.

You need to make sure your monitor is running at its native resolution, for example 1680X1050, or 1920X1080.

If you run an LCD at any other resolution it will look terrible.

If fonts seem to small at the native resolution you can enable large fonts. This is much easier on newer operating systems such as Vista and 7.

let me know if you need help.
