Pickup shocks

Pete and Jakes was the set I was thinking of.....

Pretty reasonable.

Seems that some modern tube shocks require drilling the axle. Are there any kits that do not require stilling? Surely some must have bolt on options.

I saw a set on a 29 Roadster yesterday at the Houston Autorama. Either the owner fabricated the front axle bracket or some one out there is making them.
By the way, I have not seen many original Model A's at the Autorama. This year saw 2 both 29's Roadster and Tudor.

There are two kits that I know of, Ken Davis you have to drill for the fronts but not the rears
and Snyder's you have to drill for the rears but not for the fronts. So if you buy one of
each then you can bolt on front and rear.:D

I have bolt on tube type in the rear of my roadster and rebuilt originals in the front. Don't use tube types if you go for judging but the roadster rides real nice with this combination.

Not worried at all about judging. Since I live in the mountains, I'm just looking for a decent ride, and handling. From reading the posts, it seems like the rear may be the way to start, and then consider the front.

Your suggestion of mixing the vendors is a good thought.

My 31 Huckster had new hydraulic style shocks all the way around, but the 29 CCPU has none. There is a WORLD of difference in the handling on the same road!
