Hi, just pulled the rear right shockie off my 47 pickup, it pretty much dosent have any resistance either way mid action, is it buggered or can I get away with just topping the oil up? if its just an oil prob what oil do I put in it? it sort of gives a bit of a squelshing noise as I move the arm.

Hydraulic jack oil will work just fine. You may get lucky and the shock will be okay. You may...

Ok so I took the plug out and tipped out what was in it, bout a tbl spoon of pretty much black greeny stuff, should I flush it out with anything or just top it up again?
I do know it needs to be in the position it works in and the fill level is when it overflows.

I would hesitate to put solvent in there depending on what type of seal material it has. You can flush it with the hydraulic fluid though.
