On front top of the visor/roof, the oval head slotted head wood screws are used. Sure, put some sealer under them. Be careful if you haven't painted yet. Silicone and paint do not mix.

Under the visor/roof in the front is where small box nails are used. They nail the front sheet metal to the front of the header. Chances are that you haven't discovered their need yet.
 
'Steamer' is correct on all accounts. I believe that those screws are #8 oval head. Based on some past 'issues', I would not use silicone in that area under the screws.
 
# 8 oval head screws sound right with those indentions. if silicone is a bad idea what is recommended. I guess i'll call I a 31 when I try for a title.
