Picking up my 1st T tomorrow!

Well, I am heading from CT to western PA to pick up my first Model T! I can hardly wait to see it. It's a 1915 Touring. The engine doesn't run now, but it is freed up and should take much. You will probably start to see many questions from me as I get into it.

Excited in CT!

Before you start it, it is best to inspect the pan for sludge, and the bearings for wear and slop. blow out the oil pipe to the front. Oil the cylinders before trying to start it. Also it is important to make sure neutral works.

Hay cider mill . I grew up in Seymour. My first girlfriend was from Shelton, how old are you? Did you know Bill Latass he had a gun shop near the old Cadillac dealer. How about Larry Alberti. He had a car repair shop?

Excellent choice! Good luck. As a fellow T&A owner (I assume you also own an A based on your avatar), I can tell you that you'll start to think of your A as "the modern car". The T driving experience is like nothing else. What a blast!

Well, we made it home to CT with the T. I unloaded it myself and today I called a friend who has a 26. A half hr later 4 guys arrived with a spare carburator and within one hr and 45 min - mostly spent checking fluids and other items, we had her started on the first pull! She had not run in 14 years, she ran well with the help of my Model T friends in CT. Now have to go order some odds and ends parts for her.

As a new Model T guy, I need to buy some parts. Is there a place that has links to several T parts retailers, or can someone suggest a good parts retailer? I live in CT, if that matters. Thanks. Dan Beardsley

Dan, congratulations, there's nothing better than a bunch of "T" friends. I know it will bring you many years of enjoyment.
Tip: Use The Works toilet bowl cleaner to clean the tarnish from your brass. Rinse it with clear water. Then use your favorite polish. I like Never Dull wadding in a can.

Congrats, Cidermill,

Nice toy You just acquired. Glad to see it start right up for you. That alone got rid of a lot of worries.

Parts and stuff, LANG'S. Great catalog, fair to deal with. All you'll ever need including wood and upholstry

Just did a cost comparrison between Mac's, Lang's and Snyders. Lang's has the best prices and seems to have a little more selection than Snyders but not as complete as Mac's. Also Lang's website is very user friendly.
