Pick-Up Truck Bed Side Rails

Is there a standard for the size and layout of the bed rails on a 1929 CCPU? The reason I ask is that mine has three rails and every other photo I have seen has two. Is it possible that these came with the truck as an option? Seems like it would not have, but who knows.

Bob, I am pretty sure the truck came without the wood sides. There is no right or wrong.

As Ed said, there is no right or wrong, make a set that looks good to you.

One word of advice is to leave the posts (the vertical pieces) a little long when you make the side boards. You might find that after years of use and abuse the pocket depth in the bed may not be the same for each pocket. If the vertical pieces are all an equal length your horizontal boards may not be perfecly parallel with the side of the bed when you install them.
