With my '38 pickup I was mostly concerned with being ejected in a roll over so I went with 3 point belts. The stock door latches are pretty marginal and I'm guessing that with a little twisting the doors could easily pop open. A lap belt would surely help but your upper body could still be hanging out the open door as the truck rolled. I also liked the idea that the 3 point belt may just help keep help me off the steering column if things go really bad.
