Photo request; 1934 Pickup hood hinge

I wonder if anyone can post a photo for me of how the rear hood hinge fits into the hinge bracket on the firewall on a 34 pickup truck. Mine appears to be missing something or maybe it has been cut off. Check my photos and see if you can tell me whats wrong. The front of the hood has a bit of an extension that fits into the hinge bracket as shown so what goes into the rear one?
Thanks

This is a very common condition. The rear extension of the hinge broke off. You can see a complete hinge (in stainless) now for sale in Bob Drake's catalog. If you want to fix your hinge slip a copper tube into the remaining part and weld the proper length of steel tubing to your existing hinge. Copper won't weld and will keep things straight. ( A trick I learned from Ray Cole). I shopped for several hoods over the past 40 plus years to get one with a complete hinge. I can now fix all the bad ones with the newly available replacement hinge.

Thanks, I will check with Drake's.

Here is mine in stainless.

Hi,
I notice that you have replaced the rivets with some sort of screw. I am about to replace my hinge, and am wondering what you used? You could save me a bunch of trial and error. Thanks, Al K.

Check out "hood handle & latch fastener kit" (part number 1160-R) in Bob Drakes catalog (page 53) or online. These are stainless steel rivet-head bolts with lock nuts.

Unless they have changed design of the hinge, you will find that it is a LOT wider than the stock hinge. Very noticeable.
