Phaeton top problems

My friend has a 1928 Phaeton. We took the top down last weekend and when we put it back up, the metal frame will not stay up. It collaspes at first hinge back from the windshield behind the driver/passenger's head. We have tried everything we can think of.
 
Are you saying the rear is fastened, the front hooks to the windshield post peg, but the center of the frame falls down? If so, you must have broken rivets.

Exactly. The center of the metal frame falls down. I can't tell which rivets are broken. Are all the frames the same design?
 
I spoke to Lebaron Bonney and they mentioned a locking device on the rails. Does anyone know where this is located ?
