Pearl Harbor

And with the memory of those lost at Pearl Harbor, also remember the crew and passengers of the SS Cynthia Olson which was sunk December 7 by a Japanese submarine (the crew and passengers were allowed to evacuate by lifeboat but were lost at sea).

About 10 years ago I visited the USS Arizona memorial, it made me sad to see about a quart of oil float to the surface of the ocean, it’s called “the tears of the ship” Just a reminder of those who sacrificed for our freedom.

My Mother's family sailed from SD, Ca (2 master they owned) to H, Oahu, Hawaii... late 30's. She was a young girl and saw the events from their home at base of Diamond Head on 12.7.1941. She told me of some amazing things that she saw that day...
