Passing of Sam Nixon

I'm sorry to be the person bringing sad news to FordBarn members.

A dear Model A friend, Sam Nixon, passed away early this afternoon.
Sam was a devoted family man. He was also a Model A enthusiast for many, many years. Always a gentleman, even when he was in so much pain. This summer at the French Lick meet, he made it clear to me and my wife Lisa, about his future. While that hurt to hear, Sam had such a way with words...............I'm at a loss for words right now.............

Sam was truly a great gentleman to know, and he will be missed.

Sam's on the right in the attached photo, which was taken at our Brat Fry at the French Lick MARC meet this summer.

To the left is Steve Ciccalone, with Rick Nance in the middle.

Sorry to hear about this. I only met Sam once. He had two cars at the recent AACA Meet in Blacksburg Virginia. We talked for a while about our Model A's and he gave me his card and email address and told me to call him if I needed anything. He was one of those guys who you could meet and two minutes later you felt like you were life long friends. He was an incredible guy!

Sam was everything that has been said above ...and more! He WILL indeed be missed by many of us and what a great feeling to know he also left many great influences that will we will be able to cherish for many years.

Sam had become a very good friend of mine and I will miss him dearly. A group of us would meet in North Carolina once or twice a year with some other friends and they would all share their knowledge. I was always inpressed with all the knowledge this group had accumulated and Sam was alway there to add to what the others were saying. I was always in awe that they were willing to have me sit in on their gatherings. Sam took a personnal interest in my wide bed pickup and was very instrumental, along with others, in how it turned out. I will miss him dearly.
