Parts cleaner?

Re: Parts cleaner? Try WD40

I use WD40 on some parts, just cleaned the light SW which was full of old grease and grit, it worked great and dries with no residue, also it has no lubricating qualities so you will have to put a this smear of oil or grease on parts needing lubrication...

Re: Parts cleaner? Try WD40

WD 40 works great on a lot of things but don't spray it on undercoating you don't want to remove, if you want to remove it spray it let it sit reapply wait then pressure wash it don't ask how I know but I didn't want it off the frame on my truck (Over spray), Wow was it clean....
Purple stuff works great for a lot of things purple power is nearly as good as Super clean but not quite, simple test Or example Permanent marker, diluted NA I want to clean something, just don't show the wife that stuff cleans the fiberglass shower or you will be cleaning it or out all the time, don't know whats worse. I have a solvent bucket and a bead blaster, first choice something purple and I believe they are both biodegradable simple green use to disappear now it's the purple stuff just buy her a spray bottle when you get yours and then get the gallons that way you both have one..

Gunk Super Concentrate- mix it with kerosene, it helps clean, and it emulsifies in water so you can wash parts off with a hose after soaking. Probably not exactly PC, and getting harder to find, but it was good enough for my daddy. I just got some from Amazon.

Well, I have been cleaning away with Super Clean and Purple Power.
I can not see much difference in the two.
This is the best stuff I have used because there is no waste to get rid of.
I scrape as much grease and gunk off as I can and then I spray on the cleaner, then I use a parts cleaning brush to rub in in a little and let it set 5 minutes or so ....then take it out side and spray it off with the garden hose!
Thats it !
Sometimes I repeat the process.
The inside of my rear brake drums were covered with gunk ,I think from the Truman administration , anyway they cleaned up like new.
Bottom line is, no stink, no waste, and it goes a long way for little money......
Thanks for all the help.... Ron in AZ
