Parts Car Picture Test

This is my last '40 that was used for year as an organ donor. Ironic in that it is really a better car at heart than the previous 3 patients. Just a bit shabby looking. This may be my first Ford Barn picture and hope it makes my future postings more clear. Thanks: Fred A

Out of curiosity Mercman, how do you make photos appear big in the body of the post rather than thumbnails? I've noticed you often graciously do so for others.

Looks pretty good. Way too good for a parts car. I'm starting to question parting out any old car as they become more rare. I need fenders for my Merc but pretty sure that if I did find a "parts car", I'd end up putting it back in running condition and still needing parts for mine.

I wonder what the price difference would be in "buying one done" as opposed to the cost of restoring that little red coupe.
Just curious, as restoration costs are not cheap these days.

I'm getting a little too old for this now, but in the day for me anyway, it was the journey, not the destination that counted. During the past 50 years, I have had a few cars that I obtained "done". I don't own any of them anymore, nor have I for a long time. I do however, still have the "T" tub I started from scratch in 1965. For guys like me (and from what I can see there are a lot of us), cars like this are priceless.

That looks like a super solid car. If that is a business coupe (with the 2 jump seats) I would be interested in seeing what the area under the rear window looks like(without upholstery) where the upholstery fastens. I have a business coupe someone else took apart and am not sure if there are pieces missing. So maybe post a few pictures inside. If yours is the coupe with the package shelf, I have some wood for that if needed.

Mercman seems to crave more shabby. Now this is shabby, but it sold quickly two years ago, at an appropriate price.
PS:Not in the business of selling cars but found myself *** deep about four years ago and didn't want to piss off the city. Had to thin the herd. At least four if not six old fords had to go. Thanks for the interest: Fred A
