Part Sources

Hi all. I am getting ready to place one or more decent sized part orders. I've used Snyder's before and I see Bratton's has about the same prices but some useful installation instructions published in their catalogs.
Is there any recommendation for either (or other) sources?

I'll be buying front springs, shackles, damper links, motor mount rubber and some brake parts for starters.

If this site has policies against endorsing particular suppliers then, sorry about asking; just let me know. Thanks.

Marty, so often our society has taught us to seek the cheapest price. You indicated you have used Snyders in the past. Was there some sort of issue that causes you to want to seek someone else to serve you?

This forum is full of former recommendations on vendors that can be searched and read. My personal opinion is find a vendor who consistently offers the best quality parts and build a relationship with them as a repeat customer. Both of those companies you mentioned offer great service. Bert's Model-A is another one that is great. Please do not get hung up on finding the cheapest price. Again, seek someone you can build a relationship with.

Marty,
I've used Bratton's, Mac's, Snyders, and a local source Mader's in Staunton, Virginia and have gotten good product and service from all of them.

Snyders is probably the largest supplier of Model A Parts to the end consumer as well as to all of the other parts suppliers. Each has their own specialty but rely on each other for other parts. Snyders makes and sells for example the aluminum 2 blade fan that all the other sites sell as well.

As mentioned, the suppliers you've mentioned have good reps. Si, I'd be looking at shipping costs-both getting the order to you and return policies if something isn't quite right. I like the way Bratton's will discuss the quality of the parts available when more than one level of quality is available.

Also don't forget A&L parts. They have fewer parts than the others listed, but A&L does have very quality parts. 1-860-693-0112

As stated before many vendors carry the same or similar items and are usually close on prices. Most likely do personal dealing buyers tend to state a preference for one or another vendor. I have had good luck with snydes and berts but others may have a different opinion.
Check all the venors on line sites for tips as they have information on installation at no cost to download. For example snyders has a easy to read download on install a closed car top and most major vendors have parts diagrams available in their catalogs

Most of the vendors in the industry have been listed above. But some of the parts you mentioned, you may end up with a better part if you consider a used part rather that an aftermarket part. Bert's (mentioned above) has a large supply of used parts and may be able to take care of what you need.

If it's used parts you want/need, check our Bil's Model A Acres in Watsontown,PA- Amazing place, good guy.

Wow, thanks everyone. This site is a great resource and I appreciate the help. Hopefully I'll be able to help someone here someday!
