part 21A-5510

I have a 1941 Ford. Looking at the drawing for the stabilizer for the 1941 the one on my car looks exactly like the one for 1942-48. My question is on the diagram there is a part shown that is not connected to anything and I would like to be sure it is there and what it does. The part number is 21A-5510. The reason I am asking is that I am surprised the stabilizer bar is the one listed for 1942-48. The car was being sold for parts when I got it so besides much missing I don't know the history or why my 1941 has the stabilizer bar for the 1942-48s.

Thanks for any help
John

John - Don't know the answer to your question, but could not resist the opportunity to tell everyone what a fine couple you and Dee are, and to thank you for the magnificent crab cakes while we visited!!

Don't know why you have the 42-48 stabilizer on you 41 nor what the rest of your question is but here's a picture of how part # 21A 5510 hooks up if that's what you're looking for. It really doesn't have any purpose for the stabilizer. It is to add lateral strength for the tracking bar. If you don't have the tracking bar you don't need it.

Thanks for the replies. I don't know why my 41 has the stabilizer for the 42-48s, but there it is. I discovered this from looking at the diagrams as shown in the "Green Book". My question was because looking at the drawing for the 41-48 it shows the part 21A-5510, not connected to anything so I was not able to locate where I should look. The photo is a great help. Thanks to all!!

John
