Parking brake lever part not repro'd?

At the top of the parking brake handle is the button and the pot-metal tear drop piece that wedges down into the hole. I got the button and rod out fine. The tear drop piece was cracked all the way around and predictably, it broke when I began to remove it. No great loss, as far as I'm concerned it was junk anyway. I am, however, surprised that this piece is not reproduced. It seems that I would have to purchase an entire lever assembly. Anybody have a source for just the tear drop piece?

Greg, it IS actually being reproduced, ...its just made off-shore and used in the reproduction assemblies you buy from vendors.

Since you are building a fine-point vehicle, might I suggest you contact Will Cronkrite and purchase a properly restored original unit. The price is right and his quality is excellent. Naturally I have no financial stake in this however I am a satisfied user of his components and like to recommend fellow Fordbarners when possible.

I don't have an up-to-date Bert's catalog on hand , but I have seen that part listed in their catalog in the past. It was about $20 bucks if I remember right.

I spent hours making one out of an aluminum block. I even duplicated the parting line found on the original part. I wasnt real happy when I found out later that someone had them listed in the catalog for not too much money! :(

Oh well, at least there's the satisfaction of having done it myself and knowing it fits and looks right. :)
