Painting things under the car

I was searching around the forum for what would be the best way to do this, I'm replacing old bent brake rods with new ones and also will be installing shocks in the near future...

Is just black rattle can paint best? Or use a frame paint? For things such as rods and arms, etc.

Thank you

I have used the rattle can for under the chassis parts with good success and no problems.

Just clean the parts up real well, paint, let dry for a few days and reinstall on your car or truck.

Please refer to the MARC/MAFCA Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards for the correct finish of black...that is if you are picky as I am.

I use Black Rustolium. Standard parts prep, rattle can when I can, brush when I cannot.

But I do not try to work to Judging Standards, but I do no harm to parts that someone else might want to rework to Judging standards. That is why I don't use the harder coatings like POR15. I think you could ruin parts trying to remove it down the road.

I use the semi-gloss black engine paint in rattle cans from the local auto parts store. They have it in gloss, semi-gloss, low-gloss & flat black.:)
What more could you want?!?;)

I use Genuine John Deere Gloss black rattle can for the small parts, it turns out really well and shiny. Give it a try
