painting chrome

After you get your chrome all polished and pretty, how do you repaint the accent groves. I have trouble getting the paint to stick.

I have had good luck cleaning the area well with lacquer thinner and appling the paint.
Maybe the type of paint makes a difference?

I wouldn't "scuff" the area to be painted, mainly to prevent scratching the area to be polished. If you look at the area of trim that was originally factory painted, once the paint is removed it looks smooth from the factory, not scuffed.

Try vinyl decals. Any graphics shop came spit them out for you. They will stick well after the area is cleaned with alcohol.
