Painting a steering wheel

I just bought a reproduction banjo steering wheel. The rim is black and I want to paint it an ivory color. Could someone recommend a proper paint that will last? Please give a brand name if possible so I can get the right one. Any special prep or instructions?,.....Thank-you,..Matt in Alameda

My pall Dave painted my 40 Ford wheel which was black to begin with but I scuffed it and sprayed it with a rattle can etching green I purchased at NAPA and then taped it up and two toned it with epoxy black and white,,but purchased at NAPA.

This is the only photo I have and it's not that great but the paint work was done about 4 years ago and is still looking good.HRP
