Paint trim ?

Hi guy's

Almost to the point of spraying on the trim "color",,I don't remember how I did it way back ? The place I'am woundering about is the door area,, This on a 30 coupe. Is the color applied with the door's shut ?. Are the inside edge's tapped ( of the body & door's ) off ?

How did Ford do it ? Maybe someone has a picture, that would help.

Thank's

Attached are some pictures of an original 29 Town Sedan. It appesrs the car is painted body color first and then the upper color is painted over it. Only on the the visable areas when doors are closed are showing upper color

Scott,
Thanks for posting photos of that Town Sedan. There was an article of it along with an unrestored Closed Cab Pickup they found at the same time. This was a number of years back, as I recall seeing the car at the Lancaster, PA., meet, maybe 1997.
Anyway, I wanted to point out that the 1929 was painted Kewanee and Elkpoint Greens, which is a 1930 color! Go figure. It would be interesting to know the date of the car, possibly real late 1929? I have no idea, but found it interesting when I saw it. Model A production was not as exact or finite as some would believe.

There is a original 31 Dlx roadster (indent firewall) up here that is painted Ford Maroon. Standards do not list it as a color for 31 but was avalable in 30...go figure

I also have a '29 Town Sedan that was delivered to the original owner in December of 1929 and first titled in California in January 1930. It is painted Kewanee and ElkPointe despite the info that it was not a 1929 combination.
Enough original remaining paint is there below the current finish that I can verify the original paint scheme on the firewall and tank. The tank still even has the original pinstripe just barely visible.

The engine has a November '29 serial niumber so must have gone on the assembly line "fresh off the truck"!
