Paint color on door jams

I see different paint schemes on the model A.
Mty question is was the entire door jam painted lower body color?

Thanks

I am pretty sure they were one color (lower body color). I have never seen a split color door jamb on a model A.

I thought after the cars were painted lower body color, jambs included, the doors were closed, car masked for upper color and sprayed. This would allow the jamb to receive paint but the seperation would not be sharp.

Lower body color only on the jambs. There may have been a slight overspray of the upper color however. Based upon original cars I've seen.

If you don't have it already, get the Paint & Finish Guide put out by MAFCA.

Thank You for the reply.

I was looking at Brent's website and read the old judging standards and based on Brent's pictures and what I could get from the judging standards I thought the jams were lower body color but wanted to check it out. What is the paint and finish guide by MAFCA? I have the old PPG color chart from back in the early 70s when I did a Town sedan. Can I purchase this from MAFCA without joining the organization?

Thanks again

From reading everything above the "correct" way would be the lower body color. But mine is split and the upper half is the top color and the lower is the bottom color and it looks a lot cleaner i think. JMO

Here are a couple of pictures from an original car showing the door jam and door post.

Thanks Scott for the pictures. A picture of an original is always nice to see.
Now I know how to proceed.

Thanks again
Jim
