Paint code & weatherstrip

I have not been able to spot the paint code on my '41 Merc. Seems like the firewall would be the location.
My car has no indication of ever had weatherstripping, did it have? I have purchased a kit - Seems it would go on the door and not on top of the bumpers on the body.

Newbie here, but on my recently acquired 42 Mercury, the PO had glued literally rope to the inner pillar and door ledge. I don't know what, if anything is or was supposed to be actually attached to the doors. I can look in the morning, but what Bubba did may not be correct.
From what I have researched, nothing in the serial number to assist with model type or paint codes. Supposed to be a patent plate on the firewall that I have not found, nor have I found the serial number on the frame rail. I did find mine on the trans inspection cover. But, again, it is just a serial number.

Yes, your '41 Mercury had weatherstrip.
No, there is zero information "on the car" as to what color, options, etc. it was built with.

I’m not an expert on ‘41s , but I’m guessing they’re similar to the ‘42-‘48 bodies. So there are several pieces that seal the door…
1) windlace from the lower front edge to the rear lower edge of the door… mounts to body
2) top door seal- from rear top edge of door to front of door near the top hinge- mounts to body
3) rear door seal- mounts to door from bottom rear corner to top rear corner
4) front door seal- mounts to door from near top hinge to boot ok front corner of door
5) bottom seal- mounts to sill trim piece that screws to the door/body sill

All the above are available from Dennis Carpenter and/or Bob Drake, I believe. Some of the above have screw/retainer clips, and there’s a special small seal at the rear corner of the door that glues to the door near the bottom door seal. Carpenter and Drake catalogs show where the pieces go in some cases.

The front door seal #4 above is really hard to install without the door off the car. At least that’s my experience.

‘41 experts…

Thanks Bruce, I have purchased seals. What you have outlined should help immensely. Not going to do the job tomorrow, have to wait till I get the ignition together and put the car in my work bay where I have more room to fully open the doors. Then its baby steps.
