oval to round speedometer

when did the oval speedomoeter go out and when did the round come in. I am rebuilding a 31 phaeton. Did any have the oval speedometer?

None, but there is always someone who will/could have changed the dash panel??

the gas tank would of had to be changed also

late 1930 and all 1931's had round speedometers. JAN

I remember Bill Hansen (San Diego folks know who he is) telling me that one of the ways to tell that I've got an early 1930 Town Sedan (from before May 1930), is from the oval speedometer - he said that sometime in May 1930 the switch was made to round speedometers.

Believe the JS says the round started in June 30.
