Outer panel attachment to subrails

Hello,

I am restoring a 1931 Model A Coupe.

I was wondering if anyone had any photos of how the outer sheet metal is attached to the subrails (at the bottom) ???

I am guessing that the sheet metal was wrapped around and welded to the subrail....any photos would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Surely someone has pictures, i dont have any available to me right now. The portion from the door to the rear fender is a series of "flaps" each one about an inch long. They alternate one flap inside and one outside the rail and are not welded. The inner fender part is more or less solid with some reliefs cut in where the panel goes around bends. There was not enough left of mine to tell if that part was welded originally or not. I did drill and plug weld the inner flaps. One of the restorers on here will be able to give a better idea of how they were done from the factory.
