Our Friend Harry Goebel

Back in February, Harry Goebel, who lives in Miami, Florida, was visiting his daughter and son-in-law out in California. During the visit the family dog lunged at Harry as he was coming out of the bathroom. Harry fell backwards into the bathtub and sustained very serious injuries.

He underwent emergency brain surgery in California; the surgeon wasn't sure he'd survive. This has left him with stroke-like disabilities.

His left side doesn't work as it should, therefore he can't walk without support, and of course he can't drive. What cruel irony.

I spoke with him on the phone; he's back in Miami, on the mend, but he has a long way to go and there's no guarantee how far back he can come. He's even thinking he may have to sell his '53. I hope not.

I know he'd love to hear from his Barn friends. He's just now getting back to his computer. He said he turned it on and found 3000 e-mails waiting, so be patient.

Wow! Sorry to hear this about Harry. He and I communicated through the old Fordbarn about posting pictures I believe.

I wish him the best.

Darn! That's sad news. Always read and appreciated Harry's posts on the old Fordbarn. I just thought he stopped posting when the Barn changed hands. I wonder if he is able to receive pm's or emails? Maybe sending him a note or card by regular mail would be best.

This is why we should cherish each day we are given and enjoy things while we are able to. Don't hold back on some of the things we would like to do now. Drive these old Fords and enjoy them while we can.

Richard, thanks for giving us the up date on Harry, and Harry, we wish you all the best and a speedy recovery. Vic

Keep thinking about driving the 53 & that will give you incentive to get better. Get well soon.
