Hi All,

Building up a distributor the other day and got to thinking about an old Pontiac I used to have.. It had spring weights on the arms of the rotor that would change the advance curve as the engine spun up. For the 'Modern' model A, I have seen the electronic ignitions and the auto advance that fits in the valve inspection area fo the A's, but has anyone made a drop in version of the weighted, self advancing rotor like GM had at least in the 60's for the Model A?

The Model B uses a centrifugal advance...http://www.fordgarage.com/pages/bdistributordetails.htm

There have been others made for our cars in recent years. However the advance curve is rarely stated and when I've seen one stated it's been almost worthless based on my experience. Just because it's marketed for our cars doesn't make it a good thing. The "B" advance curve (with new original parts) would be far better than most.
