There was a post recently re: ‘button head’ carriage bolts (original on left; repro on right).

When I checked my jar of these I noticed a difference in the 1/2w x 1/4-20 x 1/4t nuts. Some have flat faces while others have a moderate ‘crown’. I realize no one is going to crawl under truck to notice such things but some of the ‘detail’ guys on here might have some thoughts.

I found some nuts from Brattons that were a reasonable facsimile to the original nuts.

thanks for posting pix ... i am aware of those ... what raised my curiousity is that my 'flat' faced ones just recently came off an original truck, along with the bolts (still need 4 more bolts). Believe me, i dont want to create an "original vs. repro" argument, am just curious .... one of the fun parts of this journey!!
