Original Model A Paint Suppliers

Is anybody aware of any documentation stating which paint manufacturers supplied Ford during the Model A years, Dupont, Acme, etc? I'm guessing it may have been both and probably some others but I'd like to know for sure. The EFV8 1933-34 restoration guide indicates Ford used Dupont Dulux enamel in these years and Marco mentioned to me that Dupont originally formulated Nitro so I assume this is one for sure. Thank you.

Don't know about Ford, but in the 1940's & '50s, at least, Ditzler auto paints were available in both Lacquer (Ditz-Lac) and Enamel.

Again, in terms of Chrysler products, which I am more familiar with, from the mid 1930's, the car bodies were painted with enamel at the factory, where the bodies could be "baked" to a hard finish. The Ditz-Lac option in the paint charts was usually an alternative for body shops for paint work on assembled cars, where the body could not be subjected to high temps due to upholstery and other trimming that would be damaged by the heat of a drying oven.

Would imagine Ford got all their paint from one supplier, unless they got a better deal on black enamel from someone besides Ditzler...

Ford Canada used paint supplied by Sherwin Williams Canada, and the Canada Paint Company. (Info Courtesy Carl Becker)
As an aside the Ford Canada service Letters list four colours for the New Ford Car, Arabian Sand, Evergreen, Niagara Blue, and Pelican Grey. Has anyone seen a Pelican Grey Model A or know what the colour looks like?
