Original Interior Cleaning , Who done it?

I like to use a steam cleaning unit to clean my 79 year old interior.

Did someone at the Forum use this ?, is it save and did it work?

Thanks

Joop, we do it using steam and soft linen towels to blot up the dirt as the steam releases it from the fibers and also relaxes the fibers.

.

I used a vaccum cleaner to suck the El Paso dust out of the headliner of my 1950 Studebaker. That was a mistake, as it removed the fuzzies from the headliner and left a rather plain spot of cloth. I quit as soon as I saw my mistake, but by then I had a square foot of cleaner plain cloth in the middle of a somewhat dusty fuzzy cloth. Now that I'm learning how to sew, maybe I can make a new headliner for my Studebaker.

I'd be curious to learn about this also...

Joop & others,
please keep us in the loop as to what works best.
the door panels of our unrestored Coupe are very dirty but I have been afraid to try cleaning for fear of damaging the fabric.
