I have a fellow club member who wanting to sell a NOS 38-48 Offenhauser close Mainfold with 2 NOS Stromberg 81 carbs with the linkage already set up. Included are 2 early oval aluminum air cleaners that look like umarked Edmunds. I will figure out how to post some pics this week. I am very interested in buying this. Not wanting to be shell shocked by his asking price, I was wondering what a setup like this may go for. This stuff is beautiful!

Ken is right IMO. 81's aren't growing on trees. Speedway has a close
coupled Offy 2x2 with 2 of of Speedy Bills 9 super 7's carbs for $900. That special
includes a pair of 1/2 PLASTIC air cleaners. No extra charge for leaks.

If that stuff is original as in untouched from "back in the day", those Edmunds air cleaners are oil bath type. Yep, pretty neat stuff. That being said, many guys have repopped them over the years or possibly converted the old ones to take a modern air filter element.
