restored gas cap [JS] calls for : The interior '' STEEL" components of the caps were cadmium plated... "STEEL" components were cadmiun plated ?? Does that mean the center "BRASS" stamped logo Eaton rivet was cadmium too? And the 2 "COPPER" tags to lock down the cap too? Thanks

As with most parts of the car, individual components were "finished" prior to assembly. The caps are assembled from many parts and each had it's own finish both before and after assembly. Yes, the steel parts (only) were cadmium plated.
 
Thanks guy's . I recieved a [IF] on inside cap.. Incorrect Finish ...Doug Bruce takes the steel inside part out and have them Cadmium plate ,then buff the cadmium off the center brass rivet and the 2 copper tabs...Guess the person did not like the type of cadmium plate on the steel. I can not think of anything else.:confused: It's a perfect cap other wise.:D
