Options to Mount Temp Guage?

I am looking for some idea to mount my new temperature gauge other than having to purchase a bracket from the suppliers as follows:

Preference is to mount it left of the steering wheel but I am not sure what to attach it to. I also just have the guage at this point and no mounting bracket. Thanks for your ideas.

I used the top mount in your example. It works well and If you paint the outside of the gauge case black it blends in nice.

I made a wood bracket (painted black) with a hole to fit the temp gauge and mounted it on the steering column just under the steering wheel. I just have to glance down at the steering wheel to check on the temp. Works great.

You can buy a piece of brass flat strap at the hardware or hobby shop and make your own bracket to mount a guage on the steering column.

if the pictures shows up I made mine out a peice of metal tubing that the gage fit into and welded a tab and mouted it using a bolt from the dash rail

Go to www.ocmafc.org, on the menu at left click on "tech articles" in the new menu click on Tom Endy's articles and scroll to "Temperature gauge". This is an article with photos of how I mounted a temp gauge up under the dash rail on my 31 Vic.

I made a plate from a piece of sheet metal about 2 in. by 2 1/2 in. and JB welded it about 1/2 in. up behind the dash panel. It can be removed later to orig.condition.I also put it close to the column.I had enough sensor wire to make it to the water outlet.

You might try some of the street rod suppliers, etc (summitt comes to mind, speedway). Years ago manuf used to make a 'cup" that gauges fit into, that could be mounted w/clamp to steering column, or on cowl, hood, etc. Most were chrome cups, but could be painted if so desired.

Thanks everybody. A couple of great ideas to consider. Here is a picture of a gauge cup from Summit.
