Opinions requested on paint colors

I know we all like to share opinions and here's another opportunity.

I'm builidng a 36 pickup to mostly original style. I don't mind taking a few liberties with colors. I've had to replace the frame, so those numbers don't match, and it didn't come with original engine so those numbers don't match either.

I'm sticking with a flathead but its a 24 stud. Keeping bias ply tires and wide-five wheels. I've already done the wheels red and have wide whitewalls.

For the body of the truck I'm considering Wimbledon White, a Ford color used for many years and it has a classy creamy off-white look. The truck was originally dark green, but you'd be hard pressed to find any of it left!

Not sure on the interior yet.

For the flathead I think bright red or hot rod red will look pretty sharp between the white fenders. But I'm also considering the original dark green engine color.

You thoughts, ideas, opinions are welcome!

I appreciate your concerns regarding re-painting an antique vehicle. After I repaired all of the defects I could find on my '34, I took a paint chip from the interior of the cab of my '34 and took it to my local autobody repair guy and had him formulate paint for my '34 pickup. It turned out perfectly accurate for the rest of the cab. I am totally pleased with his work, still! And this was 'way back in 1979! It still is as great as it was then. Of course I take great care of it, as I should. So, it can be done. yes, with a lot of work and patience. So, hang in there and do what you've got to do to do it RIGHT! George Maher

Scott H,
YOU have to like it and be proud being seen with it. "There goes Scott H and his_____ pickup. Color does matter if you are gonna make it a keeper. If you paint it cherry bomb over mud pie, you will spend your days defending the color combo.
I love todays technology where you can colorize a photo. Try that. Also look at truck sites for color photos. Ya also might as those who really know you. My wife can tell me what colors vehicles I comment on. I don't know myself. Good luck.

Clem, with a green 39 peeekup with black fenders because it came that way

I had a 65 mustang Wimbledon White and my wife really loved the color on that car. I've had dozens of other mustangs but that's the one I remember she really liked the color.
