I've read quite a few posts on here about T-5 transmissions and open drive shaft conversion. What brand or make of rear springs and shackles are used to do something like that? what rear end do you uise? Thanks

On my 39, I used an early Bronco 9" and a Chassis Engineering suspension kit. I liked the Bronco because it has 5 1/2" bolt circle so you can use old Ford wheels and the width is perfect.

I also went with Chassic engineering kit and used a Granda rear 8" has 2.78 gears. If you can find older rears are good but the explorers are good because they are geared for od with bigger tires, and have disk brakes. The 8" dropped right in.

You can install a simple open drive conversion pinion and keep your original diff and suspension. Available from quite a few vendors including Speedway and Cornhuskers (I think).

If you want to keep the original rear end it is fairly easy to make the conversion at the center cross member.
