how much clearance do you have between the hood 'tails' and the top of the fenders when you open the hood?

If you watch carefully when you open the hood they almost just glance the fenders.

I just stepped out into the garage to measure, got frostbite, I'm sending you the bill.

I measured 1-1/2 inches, bottom of the tail to the top of the fenders. Same on both sides which surprised me for this truck.

Hmmm, I checked mine and have an average of 3/8". Due to worn sloppy hinges I get 1/4" lifting and 1/2" pulling down.

pffft, its only -3 Celsius there, try being a Canadian, at -3 we wear shorts and short sleeves:D. um as for your measurement I think your measuring wrong spot, theres no way you could have that much!

Hmmm, I rebuild everything and I only get an 1/8 inch up or down. Fenders are all the way down, and my body lines where they meet the cowl are bang on. Your body lines are lined up with that much clearance?

My measurement was with the hood fully open, measuring from the closest point between the hood and top of the fender. I reread your post and will see what sort of dimension I get during the travel as the hood opens.

-3? my freezer doesn't go that low. I haven't seen that temp since I left Burlington, Vermont which is a Montreal suburb.

Sounds like you need to shim the body higher at the firewall/frame . Loosen steering column first. Loosen fender at side of cowl. The running boards are pretty much non adjustable heightwise and fender is somewhat locked to it, therefore raise cab to increase hood tip to fender clearance. Worked for me. RPM:D

Can you measure how far your 'cab legs' at the front are off the frame?
