Seen this 1903 Model A Ford up for auction here in the fourm a few months ago.....

Bill Ford purchased it, I'm very happy to see her return home. Now on display at Ford World Headquartes....

...There is nothing worse, in my eyes, than a dead car on permanant display.

I can think of something worse- Same car totalled out by someone else on the road with no regard for the history of the vehicle they hit with their common douchemobile.

If a display car is to be driven, then what do you suggest instead? A closed track? That's a difficult one. Maybe some historically significant cars should be "mothballed" for their own good?

The Henry Ford does the "Old Car Festival" every year where very old and rare cars get to drive around and be displayed at Greenfield Village. I cannot think of a better place to run a car like that.

That is the best addition to the "Ford Collection" since they bought "Old 16" the 1908 Vanderbilt Cup Winner. Very nice to know it is back home. Bob

not mothballed, just driven circumspectly to keep the risk of collateral damage low.

sort of like many of us who stay OFF the interstate highways in Model As whenever possible....

You make it sound like it is unrestored. some one rebuild fixed it up I would think more then one time in its life. We can always fix it again.
I would rather see it get fucked up and fixed then dusted off every week.
FYI the big rig that might take it to a closed course just might roll over and burst in to flames. Just saying life is short use what you got. Most of you on here have a lot less time then me. Don't save this stuff for me run it. My kids and I can fix it.

Here is an old pic of Mr. Ford driving one. Notice it doesn't have white rubber!
