A friend of mine has two of these old tools, both seem the same. one shown has one of the tangs broken off. they are from an old auto garage / blacksmith shop. they are HARD, file won't scratch them. about 8" long. one shown has a logo on it. any ideas or help on where to look for information?

Looks/sounds like a bung wrench. Used to unscrew the bung plug on an oil drum. I guess it could also be used to unscrew over-tightened Model T gas caps or the like.

(bicycle) spoke straightener was my guess also, but he said 'no'. hoping someone would recognize the company logo. i thought it was for the DIAMOND TOOL CO. the tangs are about 1/4" apart, and approx 1/4" long.

I am by no means a tool expert, but I am guessing you should not rule out it being a spoke starightener. You state the tangs are about about 1/4" aparts, and the spokes of the Model A wheel are 1/4". Just guessing, mind you.

we used a tool similar to this one to straighten contact arms on relays
it wasnt as stout as this one though
