Old logging camp photos

The first pic shows a couple of old Fords (Probably Model T's) in this photo from an old logging operation.

In the second photo I'm not sure what the vehicle is that's pulling the motor home made out of a log and just for grins, the third photo of the inside of the log motor home.

I'm going to bet those were not taken in Texas:)
My guess in Northern California, I have some family photos that show similar sized trees from Humboldt county

There is no information, but if those trees are redwoods, then certainly, if not, I'd assume somewhere in the northwest (WA, OR or CA) for sure.

BTW, good guess on them not coming frm TX

The Chandelier Tree comes to mind. Below a period pix

I'll leave it for the Cape Henry folks to put their own pix up.

They may have been giant sequoias in the Sierras near Yosemite. We were out there in September last year and I remember seeing similar old photos of cars parked on huge downed trees or driving through tunnels cut in the trees.
Here's an old photo of an old woody wagon ( I tried to find a Ford... really ! ) driving through a giant sequoia.

I love the middle picture of the giant log-house trailer. I found a huge redwood stump in the woods near Santa Cruz one time, it had been hollowed out by lightning and was big enough inside to sleep three people. Two friends and myself camped there that night!

I had an uncle that fancied himself a climber,so in the early 20's he went out to the northwest where the real trees were.He did well, but after five years or so he realized that climbing was a terminal job.He said that when you're 200 feet up,topping a tree at the point where it narrows down to 2 feet in diameter, that trunk will whip 35 feet when the top goes off.He said the last thing you do just before the top takes off is to yank on your rope and suck your body up tight to the trunk. He said half the time he would pass out for a minute, and if he didn't pass out he would throw up.Then he would sit on the top for a while, drink a can of water and smoke a cigarette. He worked for Powers lumber company, later to become Coos Bay lumber. That little video will give you an idea how much a tree can whip.He met many people who lived in hollowed out 20 foot sections of those trees.

the fallen tree still looks like the photo
theres photos of it with all sorts of vehicles on it
its in yosemite

Here's a Ford Cabover that bit off more than it can chew!:D
