Old Gal FINALLY Gets a Makeover!

After waiting for 6 years, it is finally my 31 Tudor Deluxe's turn for a ground up restoration. Shop got a total makeover also. She was scheduled to go in the shop in December 2010 but a Christmas present of throat cancer slowed that down for a couple years.

I am so anxious now that its started. I am documenting it all and will keep updates on here once in a while. Thanks for all your help with questions over the last couple years. After street rods, muscle cars, and about 100 Honda Civic rebuilds this project has me FIRED UP!!! I have a Model T in the wings...its next.....

Fun fun fun fun.... :)

Curt, I'm glad to hear you're back in action. It seems the work projects we have keep us going, sometimes through tough times. You're lucky also to have such a roomy shop to get things done. People would cringe if they ever saw my work area. I'm very packed in, to say the least. I'd like to see that "T" also. I picked up an original '25 Dodge Brothers touring car last year for a song. Still learning--always will God willing. I'll be watching for your up-dates. Best regards, stay well, Pete.

Tom, you are not the only guy without a great looking shop. I have to chill the malted beverages in the snow and heat the tools to get the frost off.

Look forward to seeing you and your car this summer on GAMARAI (Great Annual Model A Ride Around Iowa).

Pete....my shop REALLY needed a makeover....25 years of use wore it out. All new wiring, sheetrock, insulation, windows, lights, heat, AC, sink, clean room addition, etc. I have attached a pic of my Model T.....26 Tudor. Found it in a barn in Iowa along with 7 other cars. Was driven in there 30 years ago. No rust thru, complete, power train seems fine. Critters ate all the interior material. I power washed it after these pics were taken....looks great now!!

Gary....I WILL be on GAMARAI this year!! See you then if not before...

Curt

Looks like you got the shop and the tools to get it done. I am like Tom, am I the only one without a heated nice shop.

Thanks for the pics of the '26 Curt. I like those OLD tires still on her. Did you find them anywhere near the "O'Rielly farm"? (How many will get that one).. Best regards, Pete.

My shop/garage isn't heated, but it is great for me. When I bought my house a few years ago, I wanted a nice garage with it. It reminds me of something I read in Car and Driver years ago, "I wanted a house to go along with my garage...."

No you're not Tom. Not only is my garage overcrowded and unheated, it doesn't even have electricity at the moment.
