This is my Great Grandmother showing off her new car. Would this be a 1939 Deluxe?
It looks to me that the car was far from new when the picture was taken.
I received them like this. I have hundreds of old family pictures. I think it was taken about 1940 or so.itbwas in Shawano county. WISCONSIN.Definitely a 39 Deluxe Ford. When was this picture taken? It is rare to have a color picture from 1939.
I started working at a Chevrolet dealer in the early 80s. Most of our customers were farmers, loggers, and construction workers. We would play a game …how many miles are on this vehicle ? We seldom had a vehicle come in with 100,000 miles on it. Some vehicles were a month old and were filthy with cow manure etc. The first 1988 new body style Silverado was a black 2500, it came back a couple weeks after they took delivery. It was sold to some loggers. The box side had a huge dent on one side. The other side they mounted a spare tire in the box. The mounting hardware was like a butterfly that opened up on the inner box side. They drilled through the inner and outer box side. We walked by the truck and the butterfly was open on the outside of the box side. The condition of the dirt roads back in '39 could cause that car
to look much older than it really was. It could of been a month
old and looked like that with the dust all over it...

Grandma knows whats best and that includes FORD V8s. I see it has a radio as well. Lovely photo. Regards, Kevin.
Thanks for sharing the picture, I don't see very many light blue 39 Fords. Car looks nice and your grandmother looks happy.
Thanks Kevin, I’m new here so I’m practicing my skills. If the photo shows up,here is my Great Grandparent in around 1900. My Great Grandfather was the 21st of 22 children in his family.
