Does anyone on this forum subscribe to oldcars? I was just offered a subscription for a really good price for a year. Are there any good points vs bad points? just kinda wondering.

I subscribe. It has some pretty current news stories and a couple times a year they also include their Price Guide. (but mention of that will start a whole fury of comments here).
Give it a try. Not published every week like it used to be, but good reading just the same.

I really enjoy Old Cars. It's a small, un-pretentious magazine published twice a month in Wisconsin. Aimed at readers who actually work on their own cars. (as opposed to mags like Hagerty's Drivers Club, aimed at readers who can write six-figure checks for exotic cars)

Wasn’t it called old cars weekly and come in a newspaper format? , or am I thinking of something else. I did subscribe maybe 40 or so years ago.

Yes. I believe it started years ago as a weekly old cars ad paper / newsletter. Has evolved quite a bit.

Back then it was published in Iola, Wisconsin. One year they organized a little car show to help the local Boy Scout troop. That show has evolved into a huge, week-long event every July. I believe the Iola Car Show/ Swap Meet is now second only to Hershey.

Just asking, but is it cause most people don't like hearing the value of there car has gone down in value over the years?

Yes, there was a post recently that talked about prices and auction results and the discussion quickly turned to how un-realistic those prices were compared to what we in the real world have. Since most price guides are 'based' on auction results, you can see why.

The most realistic price for your vehicle is the one that is agreed upon by the seller and the buyer.
