oiling cylinder

hello would it do any good to turn the crank a few times before using the electric starter to run the engine in order to put oil on the cylinder wall before the high rpm running engine?
 
Should be no problem. You don't need to flood the cylinders a Tablespoon in each cylinder should work. Will smoke some for a while when you fire her up but depending on how much oil you put in = how long and how much smoke. If the car has been sitting for some time you might give this a read through.
