look inside the at the gears if they are helical it is a late flathead and one of the most desirable because it will fit all flatheads and give greater pressure!

The 8BA type pumps have the built in pressure relief valve. If one is going into an early engine then the pressure relief valve at the front of the block will need to be dealt with.

Thanks rotorwrench, I don’t know what this one is but would u just eliminate the front one ?

Dontcha just stretch the spring in the block one so the pump one pops first?

The discharge from the front one lubricates the timing gear leave it alone
