Oil pump

Hi everyone, want to know if there is a do if your self write up for rebuild your oil pump for an 8ba engine. Any advice will be great thanks in advance.
 
Main thing that can cause problems is clearance and relief spring. end clearances can be reduced with a block of metal and sand paper. I tried stretching the spring and got too much pressure. Tested by putting pump in the block and pressured system through the pressure gauge port with an electric fuel pump. My methods are rather crude so listen to the people who will correct my errors.
