Oil Pump Clearances

I am looking to rebuild an oil pump. Curious about the clearance of the pump gear teeth to the housing wall and the clearance of the housing cover to the face of the gears themselves. The only reference I see is in the MAC catalog which indicates that the clearance for both is .001" to .002." Just looking for confirmation.

If I run into problems with this - what are options?
 
Of the few 'A' pumps I've looked at, they had .003-.004" wall clearance and thats all I checked. I've either flipped the end plate or sanded [ on glass plate] out the wear marks. The biggest problems that I thought they had was/were the almost plugged screens.
