Oil pressure unit

50 lb pressure units are getting hard to fine. Is it possible to modify an 80lb unit electrically or mechanically to work correctly with a 50lb gauge.

AMC Made a 50# unit that looks exactly the same as the Ford unit except for the tthread size that goes into the block. An adaptor fitting can be had at most obvious sources. The sending unit was originally made for Jeeps up to 1955 or 56. Check out Kaiser or Jeep forums on Google.
 
Standard Auto Products PS60 Works with the stock 50# gauge. I run one in the avatar pickup. About $14.00 at your local parts store.

I think this PS60 would be great compared to paying $50 from MACs. Is this a true " sender" or is it just a dummy switch that reads "to low", "to high", and OK? Have you compared side by side with a mechanical gauge and got the same PSI readings at cold and hot?

The PS60 readings matched a mechanical gauge used as verification. I ran both for a couple of weeks. Hot,cold, highway and back roads.
 
Thanks! I picked up a BWD S334 on my lunch break today as well as a SunPro mechanical gauge. Hopefully I get the same results!
