Hi all

I need to know how to alter an A block to allow for full oil pressure to the crank, I have a drilled crank but I need to know what to change on the block to get to get the oil to the 3 main bearings under pressure.

Any help PLEASE.

Pressurizing the "A" block according to SOSS info.

One of the most recent issues of Secrects of Speed Society (SOSS) was dedicated to the pressurizing of the "A" block. I will post the issue date this evening for you. This issue has everything you probably need to know with full photographs of the methods and "secrets".
I read the issue's articles with keen interest and then re-read the detailed parts again. Lot's of good tips for someone who wants to attempt doing the work. I plan to follow one of the methods described and already have the block in the works necessary parts ordered.
Good Day!

thanks to all the replies.

I realy want to try this but sending a block back to the USA is just going to kill the budget.

any documentation will be aperciated, if i try this i will record what i do and post it back online.

Since you do not have a location included in your personal information, People will not know you are not in the USA.

I don't think anyone here suggested you send your block anywhere. The first person said to call someone who's done it and speak with them. I posted a link on how to do it and the third person said there is a magazine telling how to do it and they would try to find the magazine.

Seemed like some good starting points to me. Good luck with your engine.

Gear driven positive displacement pump [capable of much more] delivering 9 pints/minute at 1300 pump rpm. Works well even after the babbit has seen it's better days.

So volume as stated above with no pressure other than moving oil up into the tappit gallery and letting it fall back down as 'splash' for lubricating and cooling.

The engine builder's say 5 lb cold at start...and near nothing reading on the gage when hot as the viscosity of the oil changes?...as I hear it. Could be wrong.

skip.
